Making their ramp debut at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018, Rema & Shehrbano showcased their bridal collection ‘Sophia’, in collaboration with BeeDazzeled. Glamorous, understated and feminine, ‘Sophia’ features sculptural pieces, playful ruffles, colourful accents and flirty details. The fabrics consist of velvet, tissue, organza, cotton net, jamawar and shamoise with cuts from angrakhas to box kurtas, lengha cholis, modern as well as classic bridals and peshwas. The pieces also incorporate hand work of gota, zardozi, mukeish, tilla, kora, dabka and hand embroidery. Sophisticated, classic and elegant, the color palette comprises of vibrant mango and coral shades to glamorous jewel tones, dusky gold’s and modern silver and whites.
Rema Shehrbano’s collection showcased pieces with an ethereal air, with floating fabrics and intricate designs. The collection also showcased interesting colour choices e.g. the blue and also included the patiala shalwar which is an interesting choice especially for mehndi and dholki outfits. Rema Shehrbano have always made bold colour combination choices and this was evident in this collection too, the maroon velvet with a bright orange-red dhaaka pajama is a dramatic choice, but somehow works. Although the collection had some stunning outfits, Rema Shehrbano’s sari choice was underwhelming, amidst all the glitzy and glamourous outfit, the rust sari with a gold blouse didn’t seem to strike the chord that all of Rema Shehrbano’s other ensembles did. Nonetheless, Rema Shehrbano showcased a beautiful collection with range of different silhouettes and styles.
